3 Years And 10 Months Until Our 25 Year Class Reunion

.....May 10, 2007.....KIHNCERT On The Green 2007
.....July 1, 2007....How many of you alumni remember "Day On The Green"?. I do, it was my first concert back in the summer
of 1982. That concert changed my life. The Kihncert has grown into a family event for all of us that went to DOG (Day
On The Green) in the 80s. Greg Kihn, Musician and local DJ to KFox with the radio dial number from our old KOME radio, 98.5, hosts
this concert and headlines the day. I must disclose that I am a bit prejudice toward Greg Kihn and his band for personal
reasons. My son Ben, took his first Bass GTR lessons from Greg's son Ry, who is also the lead guitarist for Greg's Band, we
just love them. My family and I have been to a few of the Kihncerts in the past, and of coarse the free shows mentioned
below at the Boardwalk. That fact, and that I saw Greg back in the summer of 1984 at Great America when they still had concerts
in the parking lot, for only $2.00 with a Season Pass.... I miss those days.
I write this to my fellow alumni to spark memories of these gigs from the 80s, isn't that part of the purpose of this web site?
Greg, being the true ROCKER that he is, has earned my respect... he is only charging $9.95 for these tickets. If that is
not enough for some rockers, he is also offering a family pack of four tickets for $30.00. A little perspective, my firt DOG
ticket cost me $16.00 in 1982. There is more, if you buy your tickets at Streetlight Records there is NO CONVENIENCE CHARGE..
Yeah!!, stick it to Ticketmaster... (that is another Rant from me).
Back to the Kihncert... There will be more than one stage, and some of the major acts performing are: Greg Kihn Band, Evolution
a Journey Cover Band, FogHat, and Wild Child a Doors Cover Band. There will also be good food... with over 100 Arts and Crafts
booths throughout Discovery Meadow in downtown San Jose. Grab your blanket or beach chairs, plenty of water, sunscreen, and bring

.....May 4, 2007.....Summer Concert Series
.....80's Rock And Roll will be highlighted at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in their Summer Concert Series beginning in late June. With Rockers: Eddie Money, Greg Kihn,
Tiffany, and The Tubes. These concerts are every Friday Night and there are two performances one at 630 and one at 8pm. These concerts are FREE to anyone who shows up at the Boardwalk.
Only you do have to pay for parking. Any Alumni into reliving some 80's Rock.....leave a Note in our blogs. So grab your sunscreen
and head out to the boardwalk for some Garlic Fries, Corn Dogs, and my son's favorite "Deep Fried Twinkies".
